Recapping the 1st half of 2023 to finish the 2nd half with a bang!

We advance faster when we pause to reflect

This week’s roundup is all about going into the 2nd half of 2023:

  • Questions to ask yourself

  • The Gap And The Gain

  • The art of fulfillment

If you’re working hard to achieve financial independence or scale your business, it’s important to take a step back every once in a while, before you continue to push forward.

Favorite Tip Of The Week:

Here’s my favorite tip about self-reflection

Now that we are into the second half of 2023, it’s important to reflect on how the past 6 months have gone.

Ask yourself these questions:

  • What were your biggest wins in 2023?

  • What habit worked well in the 1st half of 2023 (that I need to double down on)?

  • What habit did not work well in 2023 (that I need to quit)?

Make sure you take 10-20 minutes to reflect.

Why is reflection so important?

"The Gap and The Gain" by Dan Sullivan explores the concept of the "gap" between where we stand in our lives today and where we aspire to be.

We often focus on the “gap” between our current reality and our desired goals. But we want to focus on the “gain” too.

The “gain” is appreciating the progress made, what we accomplished, and the lessons we learned along the way.

By taking 10-20 minutes of reflection, we can both appreciate what we’ve been through in so far 2023 and prepare for the 2nd half.

The Art of Fulfillment

The ultimate failure is achieving all this success but not being fulfilled.

Work on what fulfills you on the INSIDE. The external is not as important as you think.

The worst thing that can happen is if you achieve all this external success but aren’t happy with who you are and are unfulfilled on the inside.

This is why it’s important to reflect regularly, so you don’t go down an unfulfilling path.

He shares how he went from being an employee to switching careers to becoming a real estate agent, going from residential to commercial investments, and building his teams.

  • Partnerships in Real Estate Investing: I own 62 doors, but only 4 or 5 of those are in my name. The rest are through business partnerships. We talk about how we found partnerships, how to make them work, and why they are so helpful to scale your portfolio.
